‘’Need to’’ is a semi – modal verb used to express necessity, requirement, or obligation.
It shows that something is important or required to be done.
➢ It is simliar in meaning to ‘’must’’ or ‘’have to’’, but it is often used in a softer or more polite way.

‘’Need to’’ is used to give advice or suggestion in a polite and encouraging way.
It tells someone what is important or helpful for them to do.
It sounds softer and more friendly than ‘’must’’ or ‘’have to’’.

4.To express lack of necessity (आवश्यकता न होना)
’Need to’’ in its negative form (‘’don’t/doesn’t/didn’t) need to used to express lack of necessity – that means something is not necessary to do.
It shows that there is no obligation or requirement to perform an action.
➢ It tells us that doing something is optional or not required.
