15th Day Learning English – 15th day Challenge

Today is our 15th day of learning English. In the previous chapter, we learned about "has" and "have." Now we will learn about "has been" and "have been." We will also create conversation sentences that include answers to questions. The conversation sentences are provided in both English and Hindi so that you can practice on your own and easily answer the questions. आज हमारा अंग्रेजी सीखने का 15 वां दिन है।पिछले अध्याय में हमने has and have के बारे में पढ़ा था।अब हम has been and have been के बारे में पढ़ेंगे।साथ ही साथ हम कन्वर्सेशन सेंटेंस भी बनाएंगे।जिसमें questions के answers दिए रहते हैं।कन्वर्सेशन सेंटेंस इंग्लिश और हिंदी दोनों को बताए गयें है। ताकि आप स्वयं से अभ्यास कर पाए-

Has Been / Have Been

Consistent practice is essential for learning English. To do this, we need to understand the letters little by little so that we can form a sentence. A sentence gives us a way to express ourselves and speak English. If our sentence is incomplete or incorrect, then communication won't be effective.

What is “Has been / Have been”?

“Has been” and “Have been” are used to talk about an action that started in the past and is still continuing now or has just stopped.

Structure: Subject + has/have + been + verb-ing

Use of HAS BEEN

Used with singular subjects:
He, She, It, Name, Boy, Girl

Examples:

1. He has been working here for five years.
वह पाँच सालों से यहाँ काम कर रहा है।

2. She has been studying since morning.
वह सुबह से पढ़ाई कर रही है।

3. Ram has been playing cricket for two hours.
राम दो घंटे से क्रिकेट खेल रहा है।

4. The baby has been crying since noon.
बच्चा दोपहर से रो रहा है।

Use of HAVE BEEN

Used with plural subjects:
I, We, You, They, Boys, Girls, Students

Examples:

1. I have been learning English for six months.
मैं छह महीनों से अंग्रेज़ी सीख रहा/रही हूँ।

2. We have been waiting for the teacher.
हम अध्यापक का इंतज़ार कर रहे हैं।

3. They have been living in Delhi for many years.
वे कई सालों से दिल्ली में रह रहे हैं।

4. Students have been preparing for the exam.
छात्र परीक्षा की तैयारी कर रहे हैं।

Since → point of time (when the action started)
Example: since morning, since 2020

For → period of time (how long)
Example: for two hours, for five years

• Since = कब से
• For = कितने समय से

1. Rahul: What has Ramesh been doing?
Amit: Ramesh has been working in a shop.

राहुल: रमेश क्या कर रहा है?
अमित: रमेश एक दुकान में काम कर रहा है।

2. Sita: Has Neha been studying since morning?
Gita: Yes, Neha has been studying since morning.

सीता: क्या नेहा सुबह से पढ़ाई कर रही है?
गीता: हाँ, नेहा सुबह से पढ़ाई कर रही है।

3. Aman: Have you been learning English, Pooja?
Pooja: Yes, I have been learning English for one year.

अमन: पूजा, क्या तुम अंग्रेज़ी सीख रही हो?
पूजा: हाँ, मैं एक साल से अंग्रेज़ी सीख रही हूँ।

4. Ravi: Has Mohan been feeling well today?
Sohan: No, Mohan has not been feeling well.

रवि: क्या मोहन आज ठीक महसूस कर रहा है?
सोहन: नहीं, मोहन ठीक महसूस नहीं कर रहा है।

5. Karan: Have the students been waiting for the teacher?
Rohit: Yes, the students have been waiting.

करण: क्या छात्र अध्यापक का इंतज़ार कर रहे हैं?
रोहित: हाँ, छात्र इंतज़ार कर रहे हैं।

6. Anita: What has Sunita been cooking?
Meena: Sunita has been cooking food.

अनीता: सुनीता क्या बना रही है?
मीना: सुनीता खाना बना रही है।

7. Vikas: Have you been working here, Raju?
Raju: Yes, I have been working here for five years.

विकास: राजू, क्या तुम यहाँ काम कर रहे हो?
राजू: हाँ, मैं यहाँ पाँच साल से काम कर रहा हूँ।

8. Deepak: Has the child been crying?
Mother: Yes, the child has been crying.

दीपक: क्या बच्चा रो रहा है?
माँ: हाँ, बच्चा रो रहा है।

9. Priya: Have they been living in Delhi?
Nisha: Yes, they have been living in Delhi.

प्रिया: क्या वे दिल्ली में रह रहे हैं?
निशा: हाँ, वे दिल्ली में रह रहे हैं।

10. Ramesh: Has your brother been preparing for exams?
Suresh: Yes, he has been preparing well.

11. Anil: Have you been watching TV, Sonu?
Sonu: No, I have been studying.

Tina: Yes, I have been using it.

16. Asha: Has the baby been sleeping?
Maya: Yes, the baby has been sleeping.

आशा: क्या बच्चा सो रहा है?

Sumit: Yes, they have been helping me.

Shalini: Yes, she has been learning driving.

28. Gaurav: Has the train been running late?
Harish: Yes, it has been running late.

गौरव: क्या ट्रेन देर से चल रही है?

29. Sunil: Have the girls been preparing food?
Nitu: Yes, they have been preparing food.

सुनील: क्या लड़कियाँ खाना बना रही हैं?
नीतू: हाँ, वे खाना बना रही हैं।

30. Pawan: Has your teacher been explaining well?
Rakhi: Yes, she has been explaining well.

पवन: क्या आपकी टीचर अच्छे से समझा रही हैं?
राखी: हाँ, वे अच्छे से समझा रही हैं।

All these sentences end with words like "is happening," etc., and the sentences are related to the present tense, describing an action that is currently in progress. Read all these examples carefully; only then will you understand.
